"As a young girl" by Rose

TWO BEAUTIFUL PIECES BY A STUDENT WHO HAS CHOSEN THE PSEUDONYM "ROSE."

As a young girl,
I was surrounded by hate,
Parents fighting until divorce,
It left me alone,
My family broken,
Now a teenager,
Everyone's caring and happy,
I have a step-father,
I'm no longer alone,
My family is a fixed mirror,
Though you can still see the cracks,
It's because I'm a Denny Dolphin
and I finally belong.

I've learned that my life's a song,
One of those songs that is never heard,
Because I'm too afraid to sing it,
I need someone to help me and let me be heard.

  3. I love your metaphorical mirror, and it's good to know that cracks can heal with love and that songs can be sung with friends that might never sing alone. Beautiful poems!
